PAINTING PALS 2019
What a wonderful success! We raised $800.00 for the Alzheimer Society of York Region.
From 5 years of age to 100 years young, these artists embarked on an artistic exchange using the inspiration of music and a love of art to create this celebration. They met each other for the first time on November 9th and unveiled their shared works of art. The experience was unique as it was heartwarming.
It has been my vision for some time to bring students and seniors together using art as an expressive medium. It has also been my goal to demonstrate to students that the arts are an integral component to community building in our Town of Aurora. Regardless of age or degree of talent, art reveals human character, beauty and innovation while enhancing one’s creativity, authenticity and wellness. It pleases me that we came together and were able to share this Painting Pals project with our community. It is my hope that it’s message will inspire others to reach out to creatively connect with others in whatever form is most empowering. It is also my hope that this is the beginning of many more Painting Pals to come! ~Luisa
